image: Training and Technical Assistance

Generally, there are three levels of technical assistance:

Limited technical assistance involves brief assistance to locate information, materials, or a resource person who can supply information related to specific questions and/or issues.

Moderate technical assistance generally includes providing the information and/or
consultation described above, but it results in agency personnel discovering that more significant issues or problems exist which require additional information and/or brief telephone consultation with additional resource persons.

On-site and/or long term technical assistance is needed when the issues are significant and may require direct contact with consultants. This assistance may involve (1) evaluating previous needs assessments, (2) assessing programs and operations, (3) developing innovative approaches to identified problems, (4) implementing advanced practices, developing/delivering training, (5) intervening to improve overall agency management, operations, and programming.
